Line 4 (3) Bessa and PereiróRoutes
HistoryThe number 4 was in 1912 foreseen for a line with the route Praça da Liberdade - Carmo - Rua Rosario (opposite direction Cedofeita) - Carvalhosa - Boavista - António Cardoso - Lordelo - Condominhas - Ouro. This line was never realized. In 1912 a line with the indication "B" was introduced on the route Campanhã - Praça da Liberdade - Carmo - Carvalhosa - Boavista - Bessa. In 1914 this line B was changed in Infante - Praça da Liberdade - Carmo - Carvalhosa - Boavista - Bessa. Later the line was extended to Alfândega. It did get the number 4 in 1927. Its unknown when line 4 was cut back to Infante at one end and extended to Fonte da Moura at the other end. Line B/4 was until 1947 always supplementary to other lines. In 1934 line 4 was cut back to Praça da Liberdade. In 1947 the line was extended to Pereiró.Starting 1960 these lines were linked with line 15/ until the closure of the latter in 1967 Line 3 closed 30 April 1984 Line 4 closed 24 July 1977 Time-tables1926 (line B, forerunner of line 4)
