History
In December 1892 the mule tram-line to Paranhos was opened.
In the direction of Paranhos the trams did ride via Rua
Formosa, Rua Sta.Catarina and Rua Gonçalo
Cristovão, in the opposite direction via Rua das
Oliveiras and Carmo. The line to Paranhos was electrified in
1904 now following the more direct route in both directions.
The line from Praça da Liberdade to São Mamede
opened in 1910 and was extended to Ponte da Pedra in 1912.
Starting 1960 line 7/ was linked with line 10E until the
closure of the latter in 1967.
The part of line 7 between Arco d'Agua and Ponte da Pedra
closed 6 October 1975. This line closed complete on 20 June
1977. Line 8 closed on 29 November 1976.

Rolling stock
The CCFP used all types of cars. In 1935 there were
necessary for line 7 4 bogie-cars, 3 cars with seating for
32 and 3 cars with seating for 28. For line 8 2 cars with
seating for 28 and 2 cars with seating for 23 were used.
The STCP used all 4-wheel bi-directional types. On route 7//
occasionally bogie cars

Revenue
In 1958 the group of lines 7 took part of 9.6% of the
revenue of the tram system. Line 8 took part of 1.7% of the
revenue of the tram system.
