CCFP 251 on 5 October 1910

In 1909 Brill delivered 20 four-wheel cars built to their patented "Grooveless Post" semi-convertible design. The windows of this type slide upwards into a pocket between the roof and the ceiling. Because of this the ceilings of the cars are barrel-shaped. In 1910 a second batch of 25 cars of this type was delivered by Brill. The saloons of these cars were 33 cm longer, a feature which can be recognized by comparing the width of the corner pillars. In 1912 a third batch of again 20 cars was delivered. The saloons of these cars were 7½ cm longer than those of the second batch. As the workshops of the CCFP performed a number of reconstructions, but the data of these reconstructions went lost, it isn't possible to point which cars came from which individual delivery.

However the CCFP didn't only reconstruct cars, they did renumber too. And these data went lost too. Probably as a result of the reconstructions + lost data, about 30 cars "disappeared" into the Brill-28 and Brill-28PS series. But of 35 cars their Philidelphian origins can be presumed quit reliable. By take-over in 1946, the numbers of these cars were:

  • CCFP 228, 221, 122, 123, 223, 225, 263, 177, 168, 211, 130, 191, 132, 233, 264, 235, 266, 215, 188, 189, 120, 261, 232, 243, 190, 245, 246, 230, 231, 255, 260, 239, 265, 242 & 169 (STCP 120-146, 150, 151, 155, 160, 163, 165, 166 & 169)
