Buses

The annual report of 1931 of the CCFP mentions the construction of 6 bodies for buses. Also drawings of these vehicles do exist, but about their employment nothing is known.

In the late forties the STCP was looking for ways to modernise and expand. Modernising the tramfleet appeared to be too difficult. Expansions were made by acquiring buses. At first these were not used to replace the trams, but only on newly introduced lines. The first busline did start April 1st 1948.

During the years, the number of buses was increased steadily and the older replaced by new. Double deck buses were used but are now disappeared again. On some lines articulated buses are used. The latest developments are low floor buses; and the newest of those have airconditioning.

Nowadays the STCP is an urban buscompany with several hundreds of buses in use.
