Rolling
stock
In
this section an overview is given of the rolling stock. Added are,
as far as available, technical data and photos.
The tram started
its exploitation in 1872 with mule cars. Since 1878 also a steam
tramline did exist. In the period 1895-1904 the mules were
replaced by electric traction. In 1914 this did happen to the
steam locomotives. At first trailers of the steam tram and mule
cars were electrified. Later new build electric cars were
purchased. And in later years the workshops of the tram company
did build new trams. Moreover freight was transported as well as
coal for the supply of the power station. This all did result in
a great variation of types of which not yet all details are
unveiled. The history is mistyfied too because renumbering was done several
times. However only the renumbering schedule done by the STCP in the late
forties is found. Another renumbering took place in the first half of 1907 by
adding 100 to the numbers. Probably with the trailers it was done in the opposite way.
No data are known about the renumbering of the fleet in 1924 or of the
renumbering of individual cars which took place during the years 1925-1945.
