Converted mule trams / steamtram trailers

The CCFP electrified in the period 1895-1903 a total of 25 mule cars / steamtram trailers. In the same period the workshops produced 3 and A Constructora 10 new bodies, which probably were equal to the newest mule cars and/or copies of one of the German cars acquired in 1898. Until 1906 three more cars were converted and one car was the result of the combination of two small mule cars. At the other hand four other cars were already withdrawn from service or reconverted into trailers. The exact history of these cars is still a mistery. Eleven "Transformados" survived until take over by the STCP in 1946. The CCFP 102, 110, 155, 156, 157, 160 & 161 were put out of use by the STCP. Four of them were used again as trailers 21-24. The 106, 107, 109 & 158 were renumbered into STCP 101-104.

7-window type "22"

The 1 at Infante. Probably this car was one of the first three electrified cars of 1895.

The first cars which started the electric services in 1895 were three former trailers of the steamtram. These trailers were chosen for conversion, as they needed overhaul anyway because of their poor condition. They were motorised with CFH-Compagnie Francaise Thomson Houston equipments. Also in 1895 the CCFP did decide to order 3 more sets, but from an American company: "Walker", from Cleveland Ohio.

The 22 was reconstructed to motorcar again in its original state in 1990/91 for the museum.

8-window type "104"

The 104 was used for instruction until 1959. The car was scrapped in 1964 but reconstructed out of car 144 over thirty years later. Since May 1997 the 104 is at exposition in the Massarelos museum.
