Brill-28 Plataforma Salão

In 1938 (re)construction of the Brill-28 ceased in favour for reconstruction into the Brill-28 Plataforma Salão model. In many aspects similar to the Brill-28, these cars had longer platforms increasing the standing capacity. Probably none of these cars was totally new but all were reconstructions out of Brill-23 cars or constructions with the use of parts of other cars. With the CCFP the numbers of these cars were scattered in a large range mixed with cars of other types. Moreover in most cases the car numbers were already continuously used during a number of years before the Brill-28PS trams were constructed. On a few photos made in this period Brill-23 cars can be seen having numbers later occupied by Brill-28PS cars. In total there were 25 of these cars numbered by the STCP 169 and 200-223. The STCP converted Brill-28 160 into this type too. In later years many, but not all, did get back lights and doors instead of folding gates. When the tram operations of the STCP were diminished, these were the most numerous of the last cars in use.
