Carros Ingleses

In 1909 the CCFP ordered five cars from UEC of Preston in England. Seating was for 23 on transverse benches. Together with the 4-wheel Brills these were the first tramcars with closed platforms. The original numbering was 202-206, but already in 1913 changed into 296-300. The electric equipments came from Siemens-Schuckert. At least 296-299 did get new Siemens D58 motors in 1923. Probably in a later period the CCFP changed the original platforms into the common Brill type. The CCFP-numbers in 1946 were 175, 170, 247, 171 & 267. The STCP numbered them 115-119.

Except for the 117 and 118 they also got enlarged (Saloon type) platforms. Only the 119 did get doors instead of folding gates. The 115 and 119 were withdrawn in 1967, the 117 in 1973, the 116 after an accident at the end of 1976. The 118, which worked until the 1980's, survives as 247 in the Massarelos museum.
