Open tramcars

In 1903 the workshops converted an open mule car in an electric car getting the number 40 and truck and electric equipments from Walker. This was an open car with seats for 28. It made a successful test ride on 21 February 1904. The fate of this car is a mystery as it was not reported anymore after 1904.

Open tram no.41 at Infante around 1905

In 1904 A Constructora converted two open mule cars into electric trams. They had transverse benches of 1.80 m. The official capacity was 28, with 4 on a row. It seems the seats on the benches on the platforms were not counted officially as photos prove they had seven benches inside of which five reversible, and also a bench on each platform. The cars got the numbers 41-42, since 1907 141-142. In 1924 they were in unknown sequence renumbered into 100 & 115. Probably both went lost in the Boavista fire of 1928. One is reconstructed for the Massarelos museum out of Brill-23 no.129. This reconstruction cannot be considered as a correct copy, as it is much larger as the original cars.
